Croquette Chicken and Mushroom is a slow slow cooked recipe made with chicken thighs, mushrooms and pasta, orzo. One of our favorite recipes for pottery pot for use at a relaxing weekend dinner!

Chicken and Mushrooms

Chicken and mushrooms are a classic blend reminiscent of gourmet dinners at home. Crockpot Chicken is a best friend of busy parents who can have a quick dinner, and this mushroom chicken recipe is no exception. With a clay pot, you can prepare this snack in advance, so when you’re ready to dine on busy weekday evenings, you can prepare dinner.

Chicken thighs are great for cooking in a pot of pottery because they do not dry out as easily as chicken breasts – see this slow thigh recipe for slow cooker for another good example. If you want to make this mushroom chicken with chicken breast, please see tips below.

My family loves pottery chicken recipe pot, and this pottery pot mushroom and chicken is my favorite because chicken, mushrooms and pasta can be cooked together in a slow cooker. Served with spinach salad or these toasted mung beans for a healthy and easy meal.

How to Make Slow Cooker Mushroom Chicken

Create simple recipes for utensils in a few simple steps:

  1. Brown chicken. You may want to skip this step, but I think it is worth a few minutes to put the chicken in a frying pan before adding it to the slow cooker. Dark brown color adds flavor to the finished product.
  2. Mushrooms and fried onions. Since you already have a skillet on the stove, you also need to fry mushrooms, onions and garlic before adding them to the slow cooker. Again, this adds depth to the pottery flavor of a mushroom and chicken bowl.
  3. Add ingredients to slow down the cooker. Season the chicken and mushrooms with salt, pepper, dried oregano, garlic powder and paprika. Finally, add a cup of chicken soup. When you add Orzo to the slow cooker, the soup will be absorbed.
  4. Slow cooking. You can cook chicken and mushrooms for 4 to 5 hours less, or 2 to 2 and a half hours. Different slow cookers may cook slightly differently, so use an instant reading thermometer to check your chicken’s cooking. Chicken should be cooked to 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. In the last 20 minutes of cooking time, stir the rice evenly. After cooking the chicken, you will add uncooked pasta. Make sure all Orzo is in contact with the broth in a slow cooker. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the pan is smooth.

Crockpot Boneless, Skinless Chicken Thighs

The boneless peeled chicken thighs are perfect for this recipe because they remain moist in the pan. The following recipe explains how to save time for boneless chicken skin and thighs.

Crockpot Bone-in Chicken Thighs

If you prefer to use boneless chicken thighs, be sure to follow the recommended method for frying chicken before adding it to the slow cooker. This helps to make the skin brown and brittle. If you are using boned chicken thighs, you may need to add about an hour of cooking time.

Crockpot Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts

Boneless chicken breasts work great on this recipe. If you are using chicken breasts, you do not need to brown the chicken before adding it to the soup pot. Since you don’t need a frying pan to cook chicken, although you’ll sacrifice some flavor, you may want to skip the step of frying mushrooms, onions and garlic to save time. Use the same cooking time as the boneless chicken thighs.
